The Arab American National Museum’s annual Arab Film Festival (AFF) is one of the Museum’s longest-running programs, dating back to its inception in 2005. Showcasing a dynamic selection of Arab and Arab American films, the festival offers Arabic-language film enthusiasts an opportunity to engage with bold storytelling, new perspectives, and innovative cinematic voices.

As part of this year’s festival, Just Vision’s films Boycott, Budrus, My Neighbourhood, and Naila and the Uprising will be available to stream virtually for free from May 5–10, 2026.

“Boycott,” Five Years Later: Reclaiming the Right to Boycott

Five years ago, Boycott premiered with a simple yet urgent question: What happens when the government tries to legislate away our right to protest? Since then, anti-boycott laws—once primarily targeting Palestine advocacy—have become a blueprint for broader anti-democratic legislation across the United States, restricting protest, dissent, and civic participation on issues ranging from environmental justice and Indigenous sovereignty to racial justice, gun violence prevention, and LGBTQ+ rights.

But today, a growing repeal movement is gaining momentum. Lawmakers and grassroots coalitions across the country—including in Wisconsin, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Illinois, and Arizona—are working to overturn anti-boycott laws that punish individuals and businesses for engaging in peaceful political expression, reflecting a widening recognition that such laws threaten core First Amendment protections.

Please join us for a virtual screening of Boycott, followed by a discussion on Wednesday, May 13, at 2:00 pm ET / 9:00 pm Jerusalem time that reunites protagonists from the film alongside civil rights attorneys and organizers to examine what this moment reveals about the evolving landscape of protest rights in the United States.

• Janan Najeeb, Founder and Executive Director of the Muslim Women’s Coalition and Founder of the Wisconsin Coalition for Justice in Palestine, a statewide coalition of 95 organizations working to repeal Wisconsin’s anti-boycott law

Netroots Nation 2026 – Shared Systems: Surveillance, Policing, and Repression from Israel-Palestine to the U.S.

Since 2006, Netroots Nation has hosted the largest annual conference for progressives, drawing thousands of attendees from around the country and beyond. Just Vision's panel, Shared Systems: Surveillance, Policing, and Repression from Israel-Palestine to the U.S., has been selected for inclusion in this year’s conference.

Around the world, states and security agencies increasingly learn from one another how to police populations and crush dissent. Israel’s genocide in Gaza and decades of control over Palestinian life have served as a testing ground for mass surveillance, biometric tracking, phone extraction, and AI-driven targeting–tools. Through U.S.–Israel security partnerships and private contracting, these methods now shape U.S. immigration enforcement and policing, including visa screening, surveillance, and protest monitoring. Moderated by Alix Gerz, and featuring Mohammad Mhawish, Samer Araabi, and Anwar Mhajne, this panel will examine how surveillance practices, repression tactics, and the vendors behind them intersect across Israel-Palestine and U.S. governance, while exploring strategies to challenge them.
