Behind the Headlines: Reporting on Palestine – A Virtual Conversation for Media Workers
Join us for a public, virtual event that will bring together media workers to discuss the behind-the-scenes challenges faced when reporting on Palestine. Organized by Just Vision and the Freelance Solidarity Project (FSP), a division of the National Writers Union (NWU), this discussion will delve into critical issues such as retaliation, bias, and censorship faced by journalists, researchers, and other media workers when covering Palestine.
Through this conversation, we aim to shed light on the complexities and mounting pressures involved in this vital reporting, offering a platform for discussion and solidarity among those on the frontlines of media coverage.
Panelists:
Tamara Kharroub – Deputy Executive Director & Senior Fellow at the Arab Center Washington DC and expert on historical and media bias.
Adam Elmahrek – Freelance journalist and a former investigative reporter for the Los Angeles Times.
