Georgetown's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, the Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics, and the Lannan Center are hosting an Iftar and cultural evening on March 12, 2026. Doors will open at 7:00 PM, and dinner will be served at sundown, around 7:15 PM.

Fadi Abushammala is an affiliate visiting scholar at Georgetown University and the Executive Director of the General Union of Cultural Centers (Gaza). Abushammala is also the Outreach Associate of Just Vision, and has worked as an interpreter and producer for numerous international institutions and media outlets. He has published work in The New York Times and Time magazine, among others outlets.

Ahmed Saidam is a student in the Master of Arts in Arab Studies program at Georgetown. He graduated from Al Azhar University in Gaza with a BA in English Literature and from the Islamic University in Gaza with a Graduate Professional Diploma in Translation.
