The Muslim House at Sundance Panel – "Shaping the Global Narrative: Storytelling Without Borders"

3:30 PM ET | 1:30 PM MT
577 Main St, Park City, UT 84060

Film has always been a language that transcends borders. American Muslim storytelling is shaping a new global narrative that defies stereotypes, disrupts dominant perspectives, and delves into the shared humanity that binds us all.

This panel brings together narrative changemakers whose work reflects the complexities of Muslim identity, culture, and belonging in a rapidly changing world. Featuring Julia Bacha (Creative Director, Just Vision), Farhan Latif (President, El-Hibri Foundation), Mohannad Malas (Founder, M Labs), and Zaib Shaikh (Producer), and moderated by journalist Nayyera Haq, the conversation will explore how local stories can resonate universally, how expanding global platforms are reshaping the film landscape, and why nuanced, authentic Muslim storytelling matters more than ever.
