Join Just Vision and Human Rights Watch for the Los Angeles premiere ofNaila and the Uprising at the Aero Theatre - American Cinemateque. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with film's Director, Julia Bacha and Producer, Rula Salameh, in conversation with Deputy Director of the MENA Division at Human Rights Watch, Eric Goldstein. Doors will open at 6:15, screening will start at 7:00, followed by a reception.

Recent events in Israel and the Palestinian territories have highlighted the paucity of information available to US and other audiences about a range of issues concerning this area of the world. Among the most important sources of information and public education about issues in Israel/Palestine are documentary films. Recently, many films about the Palestinian experience have been produced by Palestinian filmmakers.

Join us for a special screening of Naila and the Uprising at the DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival (DCPFAF) in partnership with Georgetown University's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) program. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Just Vision's Executive Director and Executive Producer of the film, Suhad Babaa, along with additional panelists to be announced.

Naila and the Uprising will screen at Willamette University, co-sponsored by the Willamette Green Fund, Rhetoric Department and Cinema Studies Department. This screening is part of our ongoing educational and community engagement campaign, including university screenings across the US. The screening is in honor of Felicia Langer, a German-Israeli human rights lawyer and activist who advocated on behalf of Naila Ayesh and other Palestinian activists during the First Intifada, and beyond.
