The NAFSA Seminar on Peace and the Global Civil Society brings together international educators with scholars and practitioners in peacebuilding. The theme of this year's gathering is: The Power of Women to Effect Social Change: Stories of Diverse Approaches to Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution. Just Vision's Executive Director, Suhad Babaa, and Public Engagement Manager, Emma Alpert, will share exclusive early footage from our forthcoming documentary about the women who covertly led the largest unarmed civil resistance campaign in Palestinian history, the First Intifada.The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with civil resistance scholars and practitioners, Erica Chenoweth, Maria Stephan and Sophie Schor, on the role of women in strategic nonviolent organizing and how lessons from the First Intifada can inform contemporary movements for rights and dignity.
