Join us for a special virtual screening on Saturday, December 5, at 2 pm ET to celebrate three years since we launched our award-winning documentary, Naila and the Uprising. The screening will be followed an intimate discussion with the film's Director, Julia Bacha (Just Vision's Creative Director); Producer, Rula Salameh (Education and Outreach Director at Just Vision); Protagonist, Naila Ayesh; and Executive Producer, Suhad Babaa (Just Vision’s Executive Director).

"Shasha" - The Palestinian film club for Palestinian diaspora in the United Arab Emirates is pleased to invite you to a virtual screening of Naila and the Uprising, followed by a discussion with the film's Producer and Just Vision's Education and Outreach Director, Rula Salameh, as well as the film's protagonist, Naila Ayesh.

Sara Fusco is an Associate Producer and Assistant Editor for Just Vision's Naila and the Uprising. She got her start as an editor and creator of short documentaries and non profit videos covering refugee crises in the Middle East, the independence of South Sudan, earthquake recovery efforts in Nepal, and innovation in Uganda. Her short documentary MAKAPADS was a semi-finalist in GE's Focus Forward Filmmaker Competition, and her work on The Messy Truth original web series with Van Jones was the winner of a 2017 Webby Award.

Mohammed Abu Safia is a Gaza-based cinematographer. While working for Color Bars for Media Production, he filmed and produced three short films for the Women Affairs Center, and trained women on filming techniques. His cinematography credits include Naila and the Uprising (2017) as well as filming for networks throughout Europe. He has worked on video projects for UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women, and the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, among many other places. His producing credits include Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera Arabic, Alray Italy, and Tg2 Italy.

Sharron Mirsky and Dominique Doktor are a team of animators based in Montreal, Canada. They came together for the exploration of new and interesting ways of sharing stories. Their specialty is direct Under¬ Camera Animation, which is a technique that involves an alternative process to the standard 2D or 3D mediums often used today, and lends a unique richness in the quality achieved. Both Sharron and Dominique are graduates of animation at Concordia University’s Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema.

Talal Jabari started his career as a film producer in East Jerusalem and has worked on over thirty documentaries. In 2010 he directed Full Signal, and has since directed numerous historical and political films and television series around the globe including Aggressive Decrees (2011), Holy Blood (2012), and Enemies of the South (2014). His work has appeared on the Al Jazeera Documentary Channel and The New York Times, among others. He’s currently based in New York.
